What is the difference between the Beta 98AMP/C and other versions of Beta 98?
The Beta 98AMP/C is a condensed cardioid microphone for instruments. It comes with its built-in preamplifier as well as its A75M universal battery mounting clamp. None of the other Beta 98 versions have a built-in preamplifier. The capsule is identical on the Beta 98AMP/C, Beta 98AD/C and Beta 98A/C models. The Beta 98AD/C is also designed for drum and percussion recording, but its mounting clamp for A98D drums is different, and its preamplifier is remote. The Beta 98D/S, on the other hand, has a supercardiod polar pattern.
NB – Every Beta drum microphone with the letter ‘A’ after the model number has a new capsule, for even more detailed definition of high frequencies.
