How is the Unidyne III capsule different from the Dualdyne?

The Unidyne III capsule consists of a single diaphragm with air suspension. The advanced technology of the Dualdyne capsule comes from the addition of a second diaphragm. In addition to the active diaphragm, a second passive diaphragm has been integrated, an integral part of the capsule’s acoustic network, and ensuring unprecedented control of the proximity effect.

The VP64A and VP64AL are high-output, omni-directional handheld dynamic microphones manufactured for professional AV productions.

They combine outstanding performance and comfort with a sleek design for the cameras. The only difference between the VP64A and VP64L is the body length. The length of the VP64A (200mm) is perfect for use in close-ups and close-ups – both indoors and outdoors.

The VP64AL is perfect for interviews, sports broadcasts and any other situations where a length of 244 mm is useful. The omni-directional polar pattern allows for uniform pickup of sound, whether it comes from the axis or elsewhere, which greatly facilitates the positioning of the microphone.

The VP64A series features a specially designed frequency response to provide high speech intelligibility. The capsule uses a neodymium magnet and therefore benefits from a higher output level and a very good signal-to-noise ratio. Internal rubber isolation protects the microphone capsule and minimizes handling noise. Thanks to its waterproof grille, the microphone can be used in the most demanding weather conditions. The included windscreen is effective in reducing parasitic noise (cough/pop) and wind.
